Top Dietary Strategies For Mothers

The phrase goes it takes 9 months to put on baby weight and will take 9 months to shift; yet if you too, like so many, are finding it difficult to shed those excess lbs then the following strategies can help.

1. Have a break

It is tempting to snack on the go when you become a mum, yet by eating all day – and on the wrong foods – this can make losing body fat hard and may even cause weight gain. Because of this remember to set time aside for yourself where you can pre-make food for the rest of the week and ensure you are eating well.

2. Go for a walk

Taking your child for a stroll to your local park or into the city, or meeting your partner for lunch can all help to train those muscles and get you exercising. The weight of your baby and pram in particular is good for exercising muscles and will make you workout harder.

3. Make your own food

Resist the temptation of cooking ready made supermarket food and try to create your own food. Lots of ready meals are rampacked in saturated fats and salt that can quickly bump up your calorie intake. As a result aim to make your own meals from scratch as this will allow you to control your calorie content more efficiently. Please Note: if you are struggling to find time to cook everyday, put time aside for yourself to cook in bulk. Utilising your freezer, you can split up these pre-cooked dinners and space them out during the week.

4. Go to the gym

Now we are not telling you to spend ages on the exercise machines here. You can make visiting the gym fun for everyone by going swimming weekly. Swimming is a fantastic way to train your entire body and have fun with your child, without hurting your limbs.

5. Experiment with breastfeeding

You may find the idea of breastfeeding inconvenient, especially when your baby needs feeding every 3 hours; however breastfeeding has been discovered to use up over 500 calories a day (or 200-600 calories).

6. Exercise with friends

Walking or attending an aerobics class with a mate is an incredible way to keep yourself motivated and make sure that you exercise regularly. Tip: if you are feeling self conscious about your body, why not ask another mother to go with you and use each other as motivation.

Getting rid of excess lbs after having a child doesn’t have to be hard or stressful. Incorporate any of the listed strategies in your regime and you can successfully get in shape.

However if you are seriously struggling to lose those baby lbs, then a credible weight loss slimming pills such as Proactol can help.

Perfect if you are not breastfeeding (if you are, we advise waiting until after you are no longer breastfeeding to take Proactol), Proactol has been found during 6 clinical tests to: make up to 28% of fat molecules indigestible; curb your hunger, lower LDL cholesterol, boost energy levels and improve aches and discomfort.
